Our aim is to develop a Racial Justice Manifesto, which develops a shared vision for Race Equality.

ABOUT US

A group of race equality organisations are working on a Racial Justice Manifesto and we would like to invite interested organisations to collaborate with us to contribute a section and be part of the editorial team/working group.

The 2010 Elections offer Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities a unique opportunity to influence its outcome particularly in marginal constituencies.

It also offers us an opportunity to articulate our vision and expectations for Race from mainstream parties in relation to meeting the needs of BME communities and Third Sector organisations.

Over the last few years, we have witnessed the attrition of Race as a public policy response to the needs of BME communities. Over the next few years, with public service cuts imminent, the recession will undoubtedly have a disproportionate impact on the most marginalised, excluded and poor BME communities.

Our aim is to develop a Racial Justice Manifesto, which develops a shared vision for Race Equality.

The proposed Manifesto will offer prospective parliamentary candidates an understanding of the key issues for race equality and invite them to formulate a policy response to the key issues identified.

This Manifesto will be sent to all political parties and candidates who will be invited to respond to the key policy areas identified in the Manifesto. These responses will be disseminated regionally to help BME voters frame their decisions with regards to their voting intentions
